SIMTEK.
When the feature is under a millimeter, general-catalog tooling stops applying. SIMTEK is built for exactly the work Swiss machines exist to do — micro boring from Ø 0.3 mm, grooving and form work, and thread whirling in what SIMTEK call difficult-to-machine materials. A direct alternative to PH Horn and Sandvik on Swiss and small-part tooling: specified on geometry, insert grade and the operation in front of you rather than on brand habit. MS² is currently proving out small SIMTEK drilling and boring tools in nickel alloys including Inconel — that is our own field work, not a manufacturer claim, and we will publish figures when we have measured them rather than before.
